Client Session

In the grips of the cold of February 2014, I flew down to Florida to meet with 4 other aspiring dog photographers from around the country for the 1st annual Hair of the Dog Workshop hosted by Nicole Begley of Nicole Begley Photography. 

My comrades included:
• The fellow Minnesotan with a romantic touch, Eva of Eva Noth Photography.
• The native Floridian with tons of spunk, Paola of Hot Dography Pet Photography
• The Massachusetts based car and pet photographer, Deb of Chill Photography
• And the upstate New York budding rockstar photographer, Diane of Muddy Pup Photography.

We enjoyed the balmy 70-80 temperatures, discussed business ins and outs, and got the chance to photograph a collection of pups – Hershey, Bear, Honey, Harley and I got to photograph Paola’s pups Mini Cooper & Pixie! It was a grand time with tons of valuable information shared.

First up was Hershey. She was a patient model as Nicole led us through how she approaches a shoot. We were able to shadow Nicole and snag images in a similar manner. Tons of hands on learning experience!

On a brisk October day in 2013, Belle the lab mix met up with me at Quarry Park in St. Cloud. She was such a ham for her session – pretty much making every face in the book for some tasty treats!

The 2nd trip in 2014 to lovely Ithaca New York for some hands on mentoring with Diane of Muddy Pup Photography.  Diane and I had met during our Hair of the Dog retreat in February of that year and clicked as friends. When she asked me to come out for a hands on mentoring and business building trip, how could I say no? Plus it gave me a reason to see her new house as well as the wonderful Miss Izze again! (Keep an eye out for her pictures in a different post!)

Diane wrangled up a wonderful model for us to photograph, a stunning boxer named Blaze. She was a wonderful model! And adorable with that pouty boxer face!

Fall had landed on Minnesota, crisp and colorful. October 2013. A stunning Australian Cattle Dog named Luna met me at a small park in Brainerd for her session. She was spry and fast (nearly got that sneaky squirrel) plus had a stellar sit and stay.

Tossback Tuesday to a warm July day in 2013. The lovely Miss Bailey met up with me in a lovely little park in Foley MN. We had met prior, when her mom was volunteering at Tri County Humane Society. Due to this, she knew I carried hotdogs on me and which pocket held them. She was not disappointed during the session!
