Location Spotlight: Theodore Wirth Regional Park | Golden Valley MN

One of my favorite locations to visit for sessions in the Twin Cities metro: Theodore Wirth Regional Park.  Nestled minutes from downtown Minneapolis, Theo Wirth is a massive 740 acre park that ambles around Wirth Lake & the golf course. There is a big sandy beach, a playground, and ample trails looped throughout. Pair with big fields, wooded paths and an adorable bridge, this park has a MEGA ton of diversity in backdrops.  I was introduced to this park in 2017 with a session with Suzi & Elli. Fluffy dandelions in golden hour, many textures of walking paths, a sandy […]

Outdoor Adventures at Mississippi River County Park | Rice MN

Outdoor adventures and scouting a new location? Heck yes! Those in central Minnesota may be familiar with Bend in the River Park with its charming barn, old house, various textures of outbuildings and prairie area with ample grasses and flowers found throughout the seasons.  HEAVILY popular with photographers – stop out in the fall and you’ll find rather coordinated packs of photographers and families swarming the park.  No we didn’t adventure to Bend in the River. Safety first – stay on leash!

Safety first – stay on leash for your photography session is the best advice for the most frequently asked (or worried about) question: What if my dog can’t be off leash?  No worries! If your dog can’t be off leash, keep them hooked up! This holds true even for dogs with mega stellar recall. Not only does a leash keep your dog safe (no chasing after squirrels, no running off to play with dog friends or people, or darting into traffic) but a leash will help us wrangle your dog into the ideal area for a perfect portrait.  (Plus many

Loki | Ritter Farm Park, Lakeville MN

February 18th, 2018. The weather was pleasantly perfect for February, the snow a wonderfully thick covering during Loki’s session at the Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville MN. Rocking boots and a new camera, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. (This golden retriever is a seasoned pro at strutting his stuff in front of the camera – you can find him on Instagram as @lokiofmn. ) We strolled into the park (thank you Nicole for introducing me to this gem!), paused at the bridge, stepped into tall golden grasses set in nearly knee deep snow, moved uphill and through
